United Airlines Loses Millions in Market Capitalization After Video of Man Dragged Off Plane Goes Viral

United Airlines is in the spotlight again after a video of a man being dragged off one of their planes became viral.

According to CNBC:

Shares of United Continental fell by more than 4 percent Tuesday as outrage over Dr. David Dao of Kentucky being dragged off an overbooked flight finally caught up to the stock. The shares were the worst performer in the S&P 500.

All major news outlets have covered and are following the story, and it’s become international news:

LA Times: United finds a new way to make itself look awful, and then its CEO shows how to make things worse

Channel News Asia: Chinese netizens allege racism, call for boycott after man dragged off United flight

Washington Post: A man wouldn’t leave an overbooked United flight. So he was dragged off, battered and limp.

And, according to Mashable, people are trolling United on social media, coming up with all sorts of fake slogans in reference to the incident:

If you’ve been anywhere near the internet in the past 24 hours, chances are you’ll have stumbled across that disturbing viral video of the United Airlines passenger being forcibly dragged from his seat.

In the hours since, United Airlines has been at the centre of a media firestorm. Pretty much everyone on the internet seems to have temporarily put their differences aside in order to troll them.

This will be a tough one to dig out of.
