Police Arrest Floridian Man Who Used Own “Wanted” Picture as Facebook Profile Picture

There was a warrant of arrest out for Mack Yearwood in Citrus County, Florida, for battery charges. He used the picture of himself on the “wanted” poster as his Facebook profile picture.

Then someone called the police on him for — no prizes — a battery complaint in the city of Stuart, Florida, in Martin County:

[The police] said when they got there, the suspect, Yearwood, was gone.

Detectives went back to the police station and decided to search social media to see what they could learn about the man they were searching for.

Detectives said they learned a lot.

“They went on Facebook and found that he had open warrants from another county…”

They learned that through Yearwood’s own profile picture, which was his wanted poster from Citrus County. That let police know there was an arrest warrant out for Yearwood on battery charges.

Police said they couldn’t remember another suspect making it that easy for them to learn about an outstanding warrant.

… Police went back to the home the next day and arrested Yearwood.
